Add the cream cheese and fig jam to the bowl of a stand mixer or use a mixing bowl and electric beaters.
Whip cream cheese and fig jam until it's smooth and spreadable.

Use the best quality fig jam you can find (I'm all for home made, but figs are really hard to find out of season, so good quality store bought jam is perfect).You need to use "block" cream cheese - not a tub of spreadable cream cheese. The spreadable cream cheese will be too runny when whipped.
