Equipment

  • Cast Iron Skillet or Fry Pan

Ingredients

  • 500 g Sourdough Pizza Dough or however much you have on hand
  • 30 g Olive Oil
  • 5 g Sea Salt
  • Herbs & Spices of your choice

Instructions

  • This recipe utilises sourdough pizza dough from this sourdough discard pizza recipe.
  • Divide your pizza dough into 50 to 100g portions (depending on how big you'd like your fried pizza dough to be). If the dough has been in the fridge, allow it to sit at room temp for a while to warm up.
  • Gently shape your sourdough pizza dough into a round using your fingers. Push your fingers into the dough to dimple it and give it texture when it's fried.
  • Heat up your cast iron skillet or fry pan until it's searing hot. Add your olive oil - you want an even covering on your pan to get your pizza dough bubbling.
  • Carefully add your pizza dough round to the oil and allow it to bubble on one side before you flip it over. Around 2 minutes on each side should be sufficient.
  • Remove your fried sourdough pizza dough from the pan and sprinkle with salt and herbs of your choice before cutting and enjoying!
